Use this template to specify the patronymics/matronymics of a Faroese given name, using the parameters below:

• |1=: Specify the gender of the name, using m for male and f for female.
• |2= or |m1=: Specify the masculine descendant of the name, or 'son of ...'. This should end in -son.
• |3= or |f1=: Specify the feminine descendant of the name, or 'daughter of ...'. This should end in -dóttir.
• |m2=, |m3=..., |f2=, |f3=...: Specify any other masculine or feminine variants.
