Usage
[edit]This template may be used in Wiktionary entries to format quotations from the first English translation of all the extant writings of Euripides by Michael Wodhull entitled The Nineteen Tragedies and Fragments of Euripides (1st edition, 1782, 4 volumes). It can be used to create a link to online versions of the work at Google Books:
- Volume I (Hecuba, Orestes, History of the House of Tantalus, The Phoenician Damsels, Medea, Hippolytus).
- Volume II (Alcestis, Andromache, The Suppliants, Iphegenia in Aulis, Iphegenia in Tauris).
- Volume III (Rhesus, The Trojan Captives, The Bacchanalians, The Cyclops, The Children of Hercules, Helen).
- Volume IV (Ion, Hercules Distracted, Electra, fragments).
Parameters
[edit]The template takes the following parameters:
|1=or|volume=– mandatory: the volume number quoted from in uppercase Roman numerals, from|volume=Ito|volume=IV.|play=– if quoting from one of the fragments of plays, use this parameter to specify the name of the play.|2=or|page=, or|pages=– mandatory: the page or range of pages quoted from. If quoting a range of pages, note the following:- Separate the first and last page number of the range with an en dash, like this:
|pages=110–111. - You must also use
|pageref=to indicate the page to be linked to (usually the page on which the Wiktionary entry appears).

- This parameter must be specified for the template to determine the play quoted from, and to link to an online version of the work.
|3=,|text=, or|passage=– the passage to be quoted.|brackets=– use|brackets=onto surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, "some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell") rather than an actual use of it (for example, "we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset"), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.
