Usage

This template may be used in Wiktionary entries to format quotations from the Nihon Shoki.

Parameters

The template takes the following parameters, but it is optional to do so:

• |1= - scroll/chapter; age of the gods or name of reigning emperor or empress in following passage
• |2= (optional) - extra text in parentheses; year (and month, if applicable) of reign, as well as season if applicable
• |3= (optional if second parameter is present) - extra text after semicolon; either song/poem number, or kundoku annotation/gloss version if passage is an entry in Classical Chinese
