Usage
[edit]This template may be used in Wiktionary entries to format quotations from a translation of Lucretius's work De rerum natura by John Mason Good entitled The Nature of Things: A Didactic Poem (1st edition, 1805, 2 volumes). It can be used to create a link to online versions of the work at the Internet Archive:
Parameters
[edit]The template takes the following parameters:
|1=or|volume=– mandatory: the volume number quoted from in uppercase Roman numerals, either|volume=Ior|volume=II.|chapter=–- If not quoting from the main part of the work, use this parameter to specify the chapter quoted from, for example,
|chapter=Prefaceor|chapter=The Life of Lucretius. - If quoting from main part of the work, if the page number is specified the template will determine the book (I–VI) quoted from.
- If not quoting from the main part of the work, use this parameter to specify the chapter quoted from, for example,
|2=or|page=, or|pages=– mandatory: the page or range of pages quoted from. In volume I, if quoting from the preface, "The Life of Lucretius", or the appendix, specify the page number in lowercase Roman numerals. If quoting a range of pages, note the following:- Separate the first and last page number of the range with an en dash, like this:
|pages=110–111or|pages=cx–cxi. - You must also use
|pageref=to indicate the page to be linked to (usually the page on which the Wiktionary entry appears).

|3=,|text=, or|passage=– the passage to be quoted.|brackets=– use|brackets=onto surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, "some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell") rather than an actual use of it (for example, "we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset"), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.
