Usage

[edit]

This is a template used to format Luganda quotations from the 2007 translation of the Qur'an made by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.

Parameters

[edit]
  • |1= or |surah=mandatory: the surah (chapter) of the Qur'an quoted in Arabic numerals.
  • |2= or |ayah=mandatory: the ayah (verse) of the surah quoted.
  • |3= or |ayah_end= – if citing a range of ayat (verses), use this parameter to indicate the ayah that ends the range.
  • |4= or |text=mandatory: the passage quoted from the Qur'an.
  • |5=, |t=, or |translation=mandatory: a translation of the passage quoted into English.
  • |footer= – a comment about the passage quoted.
  • |brackets= – use |brackets=on to surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, “some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell”) rather than an actual use of it (for example, “we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset”), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.
