Normalization

Below is a guide on normalizing Lorentz's transcription to an orthography. Tilde is equivalent to primary stress. Most diphthongs are only in stressed positions. One needs to be wary of etymological voicing and devoicing as well as when to give etymological ⟨ë⟩, ⟨ê⟩, and ⟨e⟩, as these letters may sound the same. ⟨ăĭŏù̆ŭ⟩, representing short loanphonemes, and as such, only appear in loanwords (except ĭ, see below) and word-initially or word-medially, may be given in the headword (using a Slovincian headword template and the parameter |head=), but not in the pagename. They should be ignored word-finally, especially ă. See w:Slovincian language and w:Slovincian grammar for more. Capital C represents any consonant, and capital V represents any vowel. ± is used to represent the end of the word. Pitch is tied to stress and should not be marked.
