This reference template is generally used in the ====Further reading==== or ===References=== section. It allows several optional parameters.

Parameters

|1= or |entry=

The name of the entry with in the dictionary being referenced. Include all of the bold text at the start of the entry, including accent marks.

|page=

To indicate the page on which the headword can be found.

|pages=

If the part to be referenced spans multiple pages.

|passage=

The particular text of the passage being quoted.

|pageurl=

A link to the relevant page of the book.
