Usage
[edit]This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, to cite Noah Webster's work An American Dictionary of the English Language (1st ed., 1828, 2 vols.).
Parameters

– the name of the entry in the Dictionary. If this parameter is not stated, the name of the Wiktionary entry is used.|2=
or|url=
– to link to online versions of the work available at the Internet Archive, visit the following links to look up the entry in the Dictionary, then use this parameter to specify the URL of the webpage on which the entry appears:|3=
or|column=
, or|columns=
– the column number(s) of the Dictionary on which the entry appears, either 1, 2 or 3. Use|columns=
if indicating a range of columns, and separate the first and last column numbers of the range with an en dash, like this:|columns=2–3

or|passage=
– a passage quoted from the Dictionary.|nodot=
– by default, the template adds a full stop (period) at the end of the citation. To suppress this punctuation, use|nodot=1
or|nodot=yes
.
