Usage

[edit]

This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, for citing the Dictionnaire Étymologique Roman website ([1]).

Parameters

[edit]

The template takes the following parameters:

  • |1= or |entry= – the name of the entry on the DÉRom website. If this parameter is omitted, the name of the Wiktionary entry is used as a fallback; as Wiktionary's entry name conventions, which rely on approximation of Classical Latin orthography differ from DÉRom's, which rely on approximation of the reconstructed phonetic form.
  • |2=, |pos=, or |part of speech= – the part of speech of the entry. The template automatically adds a full stop (period) to the end.
  • |3= or |accessdate= – the date when the DÉRom webpage was accessed, in one of the following formats: 1 October 2017 or October 1, 2017.
  • |subentry= – a term that appears as a subentry under an entry.
  • |subpos= – the part of speech of the subentry.
  • |4=, |text=, or |passage= – a passage quoted from the webpage.
  • |nodot= – by default, the template adds a full stop (period) at the end of the citation. To suppress this punctuation, use |nodot=1 or |nodot=yes.
