Usage
This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, for citing the online version of the Collins English Dictionary ("CED") at http://www.collinsdictionary.com.
Parameters
The template takes the following parameters:
|1=
or|entry=
– the name of the entry on the CED website. If this parameter is omitted, the name of the Wiktionary entry is used as a default.|pos=
or|part of speech=
– the part of speech of the entry. By default, the template italicizes the value assigned to the parameter and adds a full stop (period) to the end. To turn off the default formatting for the purpose of specifying a different formatting using wikitext markup and templates, specify|noformat=1
or|noformat=yes
: see the example below.|2=
or|url=
– the template can usually automatically create a link to the CED website. However, if the link is incorrect, use this parameter to manually specify the URL of the CED webpage.|3=
or|accessdate=
– the date when the CED webpage was accessed, in one of the following formats: 1 January 2017 or January 1, 2017|source=
– the source used by the CED website:- COBUILD – Collins COBUILD Advanced Dictionary (6th edition, 2009).
- Webster – Webster's New World College Dictionary (4th edition, 2010).

– a passage quoted from the webpage.|nodot=
– by default, the template adds a full stop (period) at the end of the citation. To suppress this punctuation, use|nodot=1
