Etymology

[edit]

The name Tarracina has been pointed out variously as pre-Indo-European origin (Ταρρακίνα (Tarrhakína) in ancient Greek), or as Etruscan (Tarchna or Tarchuna, the name of the Tarquinii family): in this view, it would precede the Volscian conquest.
