There is a whole debate on this, meaning that there are many who find the usage derogatory.

You most likely do use it as the default word to refer to black people in informal contexts (as most people do), but it would be inappropriate to use it in formal contexts, or simply when the person you're talking to is black. Efekankorpez (talk) 14:50, 17 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
