Yeap etymology

[edit]

I work with a bunch of guys from Romania who use "yeap". I had never seen it before so I asked them "how come you use yeap and not yep, yup, yeah". I was told that "Yeap" is the phonetic transcription in Romainian for "Yup". Seems like a plausible etymology to me. 209.35.224.135 10:29, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hardly: this is mostly used by people having no Romanian connection at all. I assume the users are just mixed up because of the slightly unusual presence of the letter a in yeah. Equinox 18:12, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
