Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1874) mentions a "whim-wham to bridle a goose", i.e. apparently the wigwam/whim-wham is not intended as part of the bridle, but intended to substitute for it. Equinox 12:01, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
