Whoa, Nelly!

I came across this phrase for the first time playing the video game the "Last of Us Part One"

It was just after Bill's first trap went off.

Ellie exclaimed: "Whoa, Nelly! Wha... What the hell was that?" right after Joel exclaimed "Jesus!"

I then started searching wikipedia on the meaning of Nelly till I got here.

I had first seen Nelly(without woah added) as the name of a song. It was Nelly by Chattanooga artist Isaiah Rashad. I think it was named as a tribute to a rapper or something. Zay did that usually with his songs (Zay is short for Isaiah)
