There's probably an image in here that can be used to illustrate this phenomenon --Yakky snacks (talk) 15:09, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
Lexical?
[edit]Huh, is it really lexical? @Equinox? Canonicalization (talk) 20:06, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Canonicalization I don't understand what you're asking me. Equinox ◑ 02:51, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Equinox: Sorry, I wasn't very clear. What I mean is that I don't think it's really entered the English lexicon, and consequently I don't think it deserves an entry. What do you think? Canonicalization (talk) 15:08, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Canonicalization: Well, I would understand the meaning, in the same way as moonwalk or time warp; and it presumably isn't how Egyptians actually walked; so there seems to be something useful here. Look what I just found:
- 1997, David Heller, Just Build the Ark and the Animals Will Come (page 70)
- "He walked like an Egyptian. . . . Like with his hands out and flat."
Toni, age 11
- "He walked like an Egyptian. . . . Like with his hands out and flat."

- I'm also not convinced that e.g. "walk Egyptian-style" would have the same implications of the ancient hieroglyphic pose. Equinox ◑ 13:41, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
