I'd think this word would actually refer to the fisher or marten (which are routinely indistinct in both English and Algonquian languages); compare wejack's etymons (though on the other hand, compare woodchuck's). Unfortunately, google books:"wajak" Algonquin, google books:"wajak" muskrat and google books:"wajak" fisher OR marten turn up absolutely nothing. Think we should keep it with no definition ({{rfdef}}) or just delete it? - -sche (discuss) 20:42, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

Okay, after digging around in the deleted revisions of w:Algonquian languages, I managed to find the source of all the animals I added this evening: [2], which includes sound files. I know that doesn't count as a durably archived source, but I'm willing to take the Algonquin First Nation - Internet Project's word for it that these are legitimate Algonquin words. Incidentally, maybe you couldn't find it because you were looking for "wajak" instead of "wajack". —Angr 22:07, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
