Spellings or misspelling

Let us have a look at what evidence and analysis suggest.

Frequency:

• google books:"výjimka" gives me 12,200 hits
• google books:"vyjímka" gives me 422 hits
• The ratio is about 29 (=12000/422). This low ratio is untypical of misspellings, and suggests an alternative spelling.
• However, the 2nd search contains multiple scannos, where the actual scan contains "výjimka" or even "výjímka". Thus, the actual ratio is higher.

Dictionaries:

• “výjimka”, in Slovník spisovného jazyka českého (in Czech), 1960–1971, 1989 and “výjimka”, in Příruční slovník jazyka českého (in Czech), 1935–1957 exist
• They have no entries for "vyjímka"
• It appears that these dictionaries treat the form as a misspelling

My impression from the above is that the language user has multiple analogies to choose from. An editor has provided the following sources to support the claim that vyjímka is a misspelling:

They are inadequate, IMHO.

• Helena Chýlová does not provide any information supporting her claim.
• pravopisne.cz appears to be maintained by University of Hradec Králové, but they do not support their claim that výjimka is a misspellling. The article Výjimka × vyjímka has no author provided.

Let me recheck the Google books data:

• google books:"výjimka" gives me 6,470 hits
• google books:"vyjímka" finds less than 10 occurrences in Czech texts, of which multiple are mentions that state that the form is a misspelling; I checked the scans.

Frankly, the above is suggestive of a misspelling as well.

Let me quote one interesting thing: "Přestože asi většina z nás vyslovuje „vyjímka“ a přestože máme sloveso vyjímat, správná psaná podoba je výjimka." --Dan Polansky (talk) 08:58, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
