Surely an etymology isn't necessary for an inflection of the same word? vēra doesn't come from the word vērus, it is the word verus.

Icelandic sé vs. veri

The entry states that Icelandic vera has two subjunctives, one hypothetical (sé) and one optative (veri). But can't sé also be used optative, as in þökk sé 'thanks [be] to'? Steinbach (talk) 14:58, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
