This is about as SOP as it gets (compare "update one's beliefs"). Maybe it can be a collocation of update or prior. 98.170.164.88 19:27, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also, please don't use the label "rationalism" without any qualification for LessWrongese. It's confusing at best. The term "rationalism" has a long history of meaning something specific in philosophy, which is entirely different from how LW uses the term. In the classical philosophical dichotomy of rationalism vs. empiricism, this term is obviously related to empiricism. The labels "Bayesianism", "probability theory", "statistics", or even "LessWrong" might be more fitting. 98.170.164.88 19:31, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I thought about this but it seems to be narrowly (WT:FRIED) referring to updating one's beliefs *in the face of new evidence* (as opposed to doing it on a whim, I guess). However, I mainly added it as it seems to be a popular "catchphrase" which someone might want to look up. Changing the label is a good call though. Ioaxxere (talk) 19:40, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
