In survey term s; as measurement in square miles or acreage,a township contains sections which measure one mile by one mile square. My question is ,how many "sections" are in a township?

In most cases, in the United States, a survey township consists of 36 sections (6 x 6). This is not always the case on the east coast, and is not the case in other countries. --EncycloPetey 08:05, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
