These two entries are just variations of toss someone a bone and throw someone a bone with "someone" replaced by another pronoun. Tc14Hd (talk) 22:45, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- For context, toss them a bone is defined as an alternative form of throw him a bone, which itself has been a hard redirect to throw someone a bone since its previous RFD in 2021. But throw someone a bone is itself an alternative form of throw a bone to. So we kind of have a triple (mostly soft) redirect presently. — excarnateSojourner (talk · contrib) 01:33, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- Make toss someone a bone (currently a hard redirect to throw a bone to) an alternative form of throw a bone to. Make toss them a bone a hard redirect to toss someone a bone. Keep throw him a bone as it is (a hard redirect to throw someone a bone). — excarnateSojourner (talk · contrib) 02:24, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- Whoops, I didn't see the discussion on Talk:throw him a bone. Apparently, some people think that keeping redirects where "someone" is replaced by another pronoun is a good idea. I kinda disagree because I think that would justify the creation of another two dozen entries like "throw/toss him/her/them/you/me/us/hir/xem a bone" or "throw/toss a bone to him/her/them/you/me/us/hir/xem", but whatever. Let's just change toss them a bone into a redirect and hope that nobody actually creates the other pages. Otherwise I'll throw/toss/hurl/yeet/cast/launch him/her/them/hir/xem a bone/skeleton right into his/her/their/hir/xir face/visage (only figuratively/metaphorically of course). - I agree that we should redirect the entries in the manner suggested by @ExcarnateSojourner. All three surviving terms could them be listed as alternative forms of each other, or two of the terms could be listed as alternative forms of the third and a list of synonyms could be added, including the said two terms, at our page for the third term. --Overlordnat1 (talk) 09:34, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- How long do I have to wait before I can make these two edits? Tc14Hd (talk) 19:27, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Tc14Hd Since it did not involve deletion and we have consensus, I've gone ahead and done this. — excarnateSojourner (talk · contrib) 05:08, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you! Tc14Hd (talk) 11:14, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
