In this article the Latin word torus is related to the p-IE root *sterh₃- (“to spread”). But, maybe, there is a more clear relation with the verb terō (terere ) from p-IE *terh₁- (“to rub, rub by twisting, twist, turn”) [see https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tero#Latin]. --85.57.136.84 09:38, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
