Not a synonym for "Too good to last"

I would dispute the affirmation that "Too good to be true" is a synonym for "Too good to last". The definition for the former, is given as "Appearing to be exceptionally good, and therefore arousing suspicion of illegitimacy." The idea of "too good to last" is quite different. It infers that the subject is indeed good (rather than just appearing to be so), and there is no implication of illegitimacy. It's just something that is exceptional and therefore, alas, cannot be expected to last for long. Jon Turbigo (talk) 17:19, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
