(tilted) In a general slangy way, malfunctioning (of a machine, probably derived from pinball), or to be unusual, avant-garde, or contrary (of a person). In "Dangerously Funny: The Uncensored Story of The Smothers Brothers" by David Bianculli, Grace Slick of the Jefferson Airplane is quoted as saying that despite the clean-cut average American look of the Smothers Brothers on their show, they were both "tilted."
