- It's figurative use. It might not be attestable. It is possible that there is a general figurative sense of "landlord" as one who effectively collects rent for something that one might think is freely available. I wouldn't be surprised if it was used with respect to someone collecting money for (deprecated template usage) protection. DCDuring TALK 10:13, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
