Add topicI don't think this phrase is "mildly sarcastic", I think *usually* it is just "plain sarcastic". Sometimes not being sarcastic doesn't make something mildly sarcastic! Also, the two synonyms "thanks a million" and "thanks a lot" a different from "thanks a bunch" in that they depend entirely on context. They can be used sarcastically, as can pretty much anything, but they usually aren't. "thanks a bunch" is, in my experience, used almost exclusively sarcastically.
