square

[edit]

2003:DE:3724:F14:2919:A1A3:3F57:553E has removed square as a definition. My source for this was Gaffiot (2016), which has "tétragone, carré" ("tetragon, square"). A tetragon is a quadrilateral, of which a square is only a particular case, so I can understand the removal, but I note it here in case others know of a particular reason that Gaffiot includes carré, such as evidence in literature of tetragōnum being used in the more narrow sense of a regular quadrilateral, what we call a square in English. --Thrasymedes (talk) 11:35, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
