From what I can see, it certainly seems possible that tellurium is derived from the Latin tellus. However, I don't actually know, which is why I'm saying this on the discussion page instead of editing it myself. Does anyone else know? 68.9.90.254 19:44, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, the link above says it was named after "der alten Mutter Erde" (the old mother Earth), i.e. Tellus. \Mike 19:53, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

- (deprecated template usage) Breton: tellur (from Peter Vanderkrogt's site), teluriom m which is correct?
Breton WP uses teluriom and doesn’t mention any other term. Tkinias (talk) 16:00, 28 February 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Does tellurium really have a "y" (ipa /j/) consonant sound in it? AltoStev (talk) 19:33, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- Oh nevermind, for some reason "l" is transcribed as "ly" AltoStev (talk) 14:50, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
