Norman, by Embryomystic. --Dan Polansky (talk) 12:00, 2 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I can't find evidence of either syiclle or siécl'ye, or syekly for that matter. - -sche (discuss) 03:29, 17 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Both failed. Deleted.—msh210 (talk) 21:04, 23 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you mean the supposed Jèrriais word for "century", it is apparently spelled siècl'ye, as in the quote on this old Language Log page. That might be why the previous commenters failed to find evidence. Is this enough for un-closing? --85.141.138.16 17:08, 31 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

We require three independent uses (by use, we mean used in the language in context. So "the Norman word for century is siècl'ye" isn't a use, it's a mention). This would likely count as one if we can track down the source, because right now it's anonymous. But the link provide to the Jèrriais society, I suppose it's in there somewhere. Good start. We do require 3 for Norman, right? Renard Migrant (talk) 17:31, 31 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
The current page seems to be here, the word is still there now (though other parts of the quote had changed a bit since 2004). --85.141.138.16 17:59, 31 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
That would be evidence for an entry at siècl'ye, but not an entry at siécl'ye. If we did reopen this, it would only be to move the entry to siècl'ye. There's no evidence for an entry at siécl'ye, even as a misspelling of siècl'ye. Chuck Entz (talk) 19:55, 31 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
It would be a bit of a job on http://members.societe-jersiaise.org/geraint/jerriais/jerriais.html to work out what's durably archived and what isn't. Some of the poetry mentioned I assume isn't only on that website therefore it would qualify. But like I say, it would be a bit of a job. Renard Migrant (talk) 14:06, 5 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Norman is an LDL, so one mention in a source the community of Norman editors recognizes as reliable is sufficient for a term to pass RFV. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 19:21, 5 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
It's Mêfie-Te Des Monstres, I'm adding it now. Renard Migrant (talk) 11:57, 8 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
