Chambers 1908 appears to distinguish this word ("a plaintiff's evidence or presentation of evidence, in response to a defendant's rebuttal") from surrebutter ("the plaintiff's reply, in common law pleading, to a defendant's rebutter"). Equinox 17:05, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
