In modern usage, it seems to me that "superparticular" is purely a term about ratios. So I think it's quite natural to say that "144 Hz is superparticular of 115.2 Hz." (144 = 115.2 * 5/4.) The reason why 144 vs. 96 and the like are not referred to as superparticular is probably because modern ratios require quick reduction of fraction.   • If we find an example of the above expression, change the meaning 1 to "(mathematics, obsolete) Of a natural number or quantity, ...". (I haven't found it yet.)
  • Isn't it rather that the meaning 1 has narrowed as time goes on, but that the usage of 1 has simply ceased to appear?
