2010 use of verb in modern times in relation to animals
[edit]There currently seems to be a predominant usage of this word in relation to gazelles exhibiting upward leaping behaviour, as well as things like sheep. Wikipedia:Stotting. Is there a way to reflect this predominance in the definition? It still has essentially the same meaning as the Scottish root, yet the context here seems more specific since we don't tend to hear the word used for humans very widely. Probably this is why it has been appropriated by biologists to indicate a more distinct and restrictive form of leaping. Dictabeard 22:20, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
