The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process.

It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.

stetson

[edit]

"Adjective". Is attributive use of the noun. DCDuring TALK 13:43, 16 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Did you mean to rfd the entire entry? You have. Mglovesfun (talk) 14:15, 16 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's not what I'd done. I've restored the adj section. I'm not one to summarily execute adjective sections, lest I be called - Oh, the shame! - a deletionist. DCDuring TALK 15:15, 16 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Nevertheless, speedy delete, the adjectival definition is 'a type of hat'. Just kill it IMO. Mglovesfun (talk) 15:44, 16 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
No, that is the noun definition. The question is: must stetson be a Stetson or has it become a generic noun referring to a certain type of hat. --Hekaheka 22:21, 17 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Uh, no, look again, it's the adjective definition. How queer. ---> Tooironic 08:21, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
The header says adjective, the definition is "a type of hat". Mglovesfun (talk) 13:00, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Am I the only one who sees the header "Noun" above the "type of..." -definition? The definition under "Adjective" reads "A brand of hat", which of course isn't a proper definition for an adjective. I'd say delete for the adjective section. --Hekaheka 14:38, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah I was quoting from memory. It's the adjective I want to speedy delete; not the noun. NB seem to think it's a valid French Scrabble word. Mglovesfun (talk) 00:12, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Deleted, ridiculous entry. My only assumption is that DCDuring didn't read the definition before rfd'ing and just read the 'adjective' header. Mglovesfun (talk) 23:26, 24 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
