Doublet

[edit]

Why does it say that this is a doublet of smalt, smalto and email (uncommon sense) but not "smelt", "enamel" and related common English words? They all seem to have the same roots in Proto-Germanic *smeltaną (to melt) (or more locally in from Frankish *smalt)?

Also, is there a way to point the link to the intended sense of "email" since right now it goes to the common sense (which is just "electronic mail")?

Also, I noticed that [smalt] only points to here. Worth being consistent. --Rxtreme (talk) 17:15, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I also just noticed the email sense seems to be the most distant, according to that entry. --Rxtreme (talk) 17:18, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
