Give me some slack

There is a slang meaning of slack, as in: "Give me some slack." The meaning is similar to "Don't put too much pressure on me". I'm not sure how to put this into the dictionary entry so I'm tucking this comment in here. 206.124.146.181 23:44, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

It's not slang as much as idiomatic. I believe it's actually said "cut me some slack" as in "focus on the essential stuff" and "skip the trivial bits" "...when judging me". The "slack" in this case has basically a figurative sense corresponding to the definition of the noun under bullet point 3. But it's definitely a commonly used expression which ought to be referenced in this article. Sobtchak 13:08, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
