Five at dice?

[edit]

John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1873) also has "a throw of fives at dice" (from French cinq (five)); I can't find it, but of course the everyday word gets in the way of searches. Equinox 03:46, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
