Talk:shear legs

The Oxford English Dictionary defines shear legs as having three legs but the term shear legs widely means a two legged A-frame lifting device as shown in the following link in figure 5-6. Wikipedia also says two legs. I personally don't think it has anything to do with BE vs AE, but more with the changes that have occurred in the technology itself over time.
