Why do we have a word for divided into 7 parts? Was this a common number of pieces to divide into or is there a series of octopartite for 8 and words for into 6 and 9 and other number of pieces? RJFJR 18:54, 27 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yup: for 6 there's sexpartite, for 8 there's octopartite, and for 9 there's the rare novempartite. — Raifʻhār Doremítzwr ~ (U · T · C) ~ 18:13, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I imagine there's a great deal of historical use for septempartite, considering the religious significance of the number. Tentonbricks 14:29, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
What religious significance is this? I'm not aware of any. — Raifʻhār Doremítzwr ~ (U · T · C) ~ 17:45, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
