[edit]Given the presence of a w in the word, a Spanish origin seems far more probable. --Romanophile ♞ (contributions) 08:29, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
- u in Cebuano is always a vowel. uw or w replaces the u in a foreign word depending on the pronunciation.
- English
- graduate -> gradyuweyt, simplified to -> gradweyt
- equal -> ekwal
- English
- Spanish
- guano -> guwano
- iguales -> igwales
- Spanish
- Plus, sex, sexual, and sexuality are recent words and mostly used by the younger people and usually spelled with their English spellings. Cebuano-language writers insist though on using a Cebuano spelling. Carl Francis (talk) 18:49, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
