The term occurs several times in one section of "The Man Who Never Was" by Ewen Montagu, published by J. B. Lippincott Company 1954. Obviously incontext referring to crumpling a piece of paper to try to make it look 'aged' (They are trying to prepare a fake document to fool enemy intelligence officers and deem scrumpling and smooth in effective for a love letter that a person would have treasured). 04:24, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
