principal rafter

[edit]

Chambers 1908 has this, defined as "a main timber in supporting the weight of a roof". Our def says a rafter is sloped, but I imagine (unsure) the main timber would not be sloped. So is it SoP or not? Equinox 03:33, 26 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Is such a meaning correct? https://www.wordreference.com/es/translation.asp?tranword=rafter --Backinstadiums (talk) 16:30, 15 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
