[edit]I don't think the following is correct:
- Any philosophical system that does not meet mainstream academic standards.
It means rather
- False philosophy.
or
- Fake philosophy.
It is putative philosophy that the speaker considers to be no true philosophy, and if the speaker is not part of the mainstream, the criterion of "meeting mainstream academic standards" is not at stake. It is really pretty much sum of parts except that there is no separating space. Admittedly, the definition "false philosophy" is ambiguous; it would be "false" as in "fake", not as in "untrue"; an untrue philosophy could still be respectable--one can get things wrong--and respectably incorrect philosophy would not be called "pseudo-", I think. -Dan Polansky (talk) 14:44, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
In Duden:Afterphilosophie[1], it suffices for philosophy to be bad to meet the definition. --Dan Polansky (talk) 14:50, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
- OK, please fix. Equinox ◑ 15:43, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
- I used "fake or very bad philosophy". Open to further proposals or changes, obviously. --Dan Polansky (talk) 16:23, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
