Apart from being something of a mess: it's precisely a key that's pre-shared. Equinox ◑ 16:27, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
- Keep this term used in cryptography. Other terms with a similar structure making them open to similar RFD: private key, public key. This seems to be a bit like talk:free variable. --Dan Polansky (talk) 09:00, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
