Hello everybody!
I wonder if PrEP is a pleonasm due to its components: Pre-exposure and prophylaxis (Wiki: Prophylaxis in medicine means measures taken to prevent, rather than treat, diseases). Do you agree or is this not tenable? Like, it's hard to imagine, the doctors, who brought the term up, didn't notice. So I wonder, if in medicine this may be legitimate...

- It may be pleonastic, but sometimes acronyms are chosen for their memorableness and marketability. DTLHS (talk) 21:31, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
