Citation noun or verb?
[edit]The 2011 Bill Marsh citation could be either a noun or a verb; I suspect it's a verb. Perhaps we should move it? Equinox ◑ 18:01, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
prang meaning traffic accident
[edit]As stated, WW2 RAF slang meaning a successful bombing raid. Origin said to be unknown. However, it would appear to be derived from Malay language perang (formerly spelled prang) meaning war. Probably brought to RAF by British planters in Malaya who joined the RAF. From war, it came to mean the destruction caused, and from there to a damaged or destroyed car.
