This is some kind of Brittishism? --Connel MacKenzie 06:35, 3 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Pronunciation (homographs)

[edit]

It appears that a pram as something to carry a baby round with, has a 'cat' sound while the boat has a 'car' sound...This is for the RP transcription, not sure about the American one.zigzig20s 18:22, 6 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Doublet of farm?

[edit]

Hi @Simplificationalizer. In 2020 you added this to the etymology. Can you verify this? I don't think this can be the common word farm “place for farming”. I can find an Old English word fearm (freight), but no Modern English descendant. —Caoimhin ceallach (talk) 21:03, 29 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I think I just made a mistake. Removed it.--Simplificationalizer (talk) 21:31, 29 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
