- There is a Swedish idiomatic expression slå näven i bordet "strike the fist in the table" which means that your patience have run out and now you demand what feel you are entitled to. Perhaps the expressions are related. I have never heard the English expression before though. --Patrik Stridvall 21:44, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
