[edit]The page has two etymologies in one entry. It seems clear that the card game sense is the only one that gets the 2nd etym., but it's not clear how "French vingt-et-un 'twenty-one'" becomes pontoon. Perhaps a term from the game? The wikipedia w:Pontoon link lists it as an alternate name for twenty-one/blackjack, but that would be self-referential... Jeffqyzt 23:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

no pontoon boat?
[edit]There are many recreational boats built on pontoons. A more common occurance than pontoons on a seaplane or a bridge.
