- @DCDuring I've merged the mathematics (complex analysis) definitions in etyms 1 & 2, which were equivalent apart from domain specificity. I have preferred etym 2 on the basis of a probable connection to the geometry and physics senses already there. For reference, some possible other senses / derived terms are mentioned in Pole at Wolfram.com and

Multipoles
[edit]Are "quadrupole" to "hexadecapole" and "multipole" worth adding to the derived terms section? Theoretically they could go arbitrarily far so it has to stop somewhere, but pages only exist up to "hexadecapole", and they're increasingly rare. 129.67.156.186 14:13, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
